Hi! My name is Elizabeth McHugh. This is my third year teaching at Pathfinder. Prior to this assignment, I spent 15 years teaching fifth and sixth grade at Navigator. Before coming to Pinckney, I taught sixth and seventh grade Science & Social Studies in Plymouth-Canton. I'm looking forward to another exciting year at Pathfinder. This year, I will only be teaching 7th grade Social Studies. The curriculum covers ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, Greece, and Rome. I am a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned my master's degree at Eastern Michigan University. I am married to Tom, who teaches here at Pathfinder, also. We have 2 sons, who are in 7th & 5th grade and a daughter in 2nd grade this year. Last summer, we adopted a Labradoodle puppy named Honey. She is scared of feathers and enjoys barking at night. We have a very busy household and I totally understand how crazy life can get after school, with homework and extracurricular activities. When I have free time (haha, what's free time?), I love to read! I also like to run, golf, and play volleyball. I am on a women's volleyball team with Ms. Smith and Ms. Madill during the winter months. I also enjoy trying new recipes and baking yummy treats for my family.
